Professor LUK Kwai Man

Professor LUK Kwai Man is Chair Professor of Electronic Engineering and Director of State Key Laboratory of Millimeter Waves at the City University of Hong Kong. Professor Luk is an authority in microwave antenna design. He is distinguished for his significant contributions to the design and development of wideband patch antennas which find applications as low profile and esthetically pleasing antennas for modern wireless communications. He is a pioneer in the design of dielectric resonator antennas which are non-metallic antennas suitable for applications in wideband millimeter-wave communication systems. His early study on the theory of microwave open resonator led to the disproof of the existence of the classical linearly-polarized higher-order Gaussian beam modes. (2001/2002)
